Sunshine Blogger Award (II)

A couple of weeks ago, Mélodie from Tea Bees Trips nominated me for the Sunshine Blogger Award, an award which is given by bloggers to bloggers who “are positive and creatively inspire others in the blogosphere”. Mélodie blogs about tea and travels, and recently shared photos and tales from her trip to Cornwall, an area high on my travel wish list. (I also love the bilingual format of all her posts!) Mille mercis to Mélodie for the nomination, and let’s get cracking with the Q&A . . .

2017’s Memorable Moments

Sometimes, time crawled; mostly, it flew. 2017 is, in the words of The Proclaimers, ‘Over and Done With’ – or rather, it was three days ago, but I’m late to the party with my end-of-year roundup. (I didn’t join the #bestnine2017 Insta-party, but rest assured this post will contain a sufficient number of photos.) 2017 wasn’t without its low moments, but overall I had a darn good year. Life in the Real World (as opposed to Life in the University Bubble) was a steep learning curve, and I learnt a lot of valuable lessons along the way, most of which are summed up in this post. La Grenouille Anglaise has come further than I thought possible, and for that I owe every reader of this blog an enormous thank you.

Christmas Tag

If I were in The Grinch, I’d be one of the Whos: I love everything about Christmas. (Aside from the sprouts, that is.) I love the horrendous jokes in the crackers, the seasonal treats and the nippy weather. Most of all, I love spending time with my family and friends. Merci beaucoup to Bola for nominating me for this tag (my favourite yet), and let’s crack on with the Q&A . . .

Blue Sky Tag (II)

Not so long ago, Jenny from Travel, Adventure, Discover nominated me for the Blue Sky Tag – a lovely way to pass on a slice of positivity to other bloggers (and a nice distraction from the grey clouds gracing the skies here in the UK). Currently based in Berlin, Jenny features snapshots of life in Deutschland and snippets from her international adventures on her blog. Danke to Jenny for the nomination and before I get side-tracked, let’s crack on!

Blogger Recognition Award (II)

A week or so back, I was nominated for the Blogger Recognition Award by the lovely Caroline from Caroline: Post-Grad. She’s the only blogger I follow that I’ve actually met – on a hike near Ambérieu-en-Bugey back in November – and I’ve been following her post-grad adventures ever since. I love seeing her interpretations of the Daily Post Photo Challenge, as they always provide food for thought, and especially admire the honesty behind her posts. Caroline’s blog is a constant source of reassurance and inspiration, and her nomination means a lot to me. Sans plus tarder, a huge thank you to Caroline for the nomination and let’s crack on with the award itself.

Blue Sky Tag

A fortnight ago, Emma from Curly Girl Abroad nominated me for the Blue Sky Tag; I’m not entirely sure of its origins, but I’m only too happy to tag along (pardon the awful pun). Emma’s blog is a lovely mishmash of general ponderings, baking and travelling – so if you fancy touring Europe (and a chunk of the US of A) from your sofa, then head on over! Thank you for the nomination Emma, and without further ado on y va!

Blogger Recognition Award

A fortnight or so ago, Seattle-based Allison over at Travel Gourmand nominated me for the Blogger Recognition Award. Allison’s blog, as its name suggests, is packed with adventures, both stateside and further afield, and culinary delights. Her recent recounting of her time in Churchill brought back fond childhood memories of the first time I ever learnt of Hudson Bay – in the Animal Ark book Polar Bears on the Path. (I still love alliterative titles. Some things will never change.) Globetrotting aside, you’ll find plenty of restaurant recommendations and recipes inspired by her travels to try out at home. Without further ado, mille mercis to Allison for the nomination, and (heigh ho, heigh ho) onto the rules we go!

Liebster Award (II)

A fortnight or so ago, Diana over at Handstands Around the World nominated me for the Liebster Award. It’s just a wee step down from a Booker Prize, and is given to bloggers by bloggers in order to celebrate emerging blogs (and perhaps help a few fellow bloggers to discover your site in the first place). If you don’t have the airfare (or air miles) right now, Diana’s blog is sure to have you adding American national parks to your bucket list at a rate of knots. Canyonlands, Craters of the Moon and Arches are just a handful of the immensely photogenic natural landscapes I’ve added to my list already . . . Without further ado, un grand merci to Diana for nominating my blog and let’s crack on with the award itself!

Versatile Blogger Award

Several weeks ago, the lovely Rhiannon from Wales to Wherever nominated me for the Versatile Blogger Award. This award is, to quote Rhiannon’s blog, “given to deserving blogs with less than 1,000 followers and it typically recognizes the quality of the writing, the uniqueness of the subjects covered [and] the level of love displayed in the words on the virtual page”. So a huge virtual merci to Rhiannon and without further ado, allons-y!

Sunshine Blogger Award

About a month ago, Rhiannon over at Wales to Wherever nominated me for the Sunshine Blogger Award. It’s an award which is given by bloggers to bloggers who “are positive and creatively inspire others in the blogosphere.” – so mille mercis to Rhiannon for considering my ramblings worthy of this award. Rhiannon’s misadventures across the world have me in fits of giggles, so if you’re in need of a giggle-fix I urge you to go and check out some of her posts!
