Blogger Recognition Award (II)

A week or so back, I was nominated for the Blogger Recognition Award by the lovely Caroline from Caroline: Post-Grad. She’s the only blogger I follow that I’ve actually met – on a hike near Ambérieu-en-Bugey back in November – and I’ve been following her post-grad adventures ever since. I love seeing her interpretations of the Daily Post Photo Challenge, as they always provide food for thought, and especially admire the honesty behind her posts. Caroline’s blog is a constant source of reassurance and inspiration, and her nomination means a lot to me. Sans plus tarder, a huge thank you to Caroline for the nomination and let’s crack on with the award itself.

The histoire behind La Grenouille Anglaise:

I first began blogging over the course of my year abroad in Colmar, Alsace. (If you want to check it out and fancy some amusement en franglais, then here’s the link.) After spending the summer travelling across Canada and the USA, interning in London and exploring my home turf a bit more, I realised that I missed having my own little corner of the World Wide Web. I subsequently created La Grenouille Anglaise, a spot for my ramblings, culinary endeavours (you’ll find more sweet recipes than savoury here), language-related listicles and various adventures across the globe.

Some words of wisdom for other bloggers,

1. Write, first and foremost, for yourself. It may sound like a rather selfish thing to do, but if you write about the things that make you tick then you’re far more likely to want to maintain your blog. Blogging should be a pleasure, not a chore.
2. Blogging is a marathon not a sprint, so resist the urge to post a gazillion posts a week when you first enter the blogosphere. Pace yourself – or you’ll run out of steam. (Or at least, I would.)

Handstands Around the World | Diana’s national park adventures have me hitting bookmark more times than I care to admit – for now, I’m happy to go on an armchair tour of the USA’s green spaces, but I’d love to visit some of these stunning destinations for myself one day. Great Sand Dunes National Park, anyone? Or how about Guadalupe Mountains National Park in the Deep South?

Zo Around the World | London-based Zoe has heaps of useful posts on budget travel and tips for those seeking to explore off the beaten track destinations. She’s also upfront on whether or not attractions merit the entry fee and open about costs, which is particularly handy since the concept of budget travel is something that varies from one traveller to the next.
